Te reo

This morning's te reo lesson warm-up. Matching the pikitia with the correct reo. A lot of great korero had here. If we didn't know a word we figured out HOW to find out by using several different options such as asking a buddy, using the maori dictionary online and breaking the words down and linking them to our prior knowledge.

It's reading time and we are working independently on our tasks. Some of us are reading online articles, some of us are reading school journals. We are all Learning, and we are all Creating something from what we learn. You will soon be able to see what we've learned and created when we Share our work on our blogs.
Please leave us a Positive, Helpful, Thoughtful comment.

Storyboard and Maori Myths

This week we have been reading Riding the Waves- Four Māori Myths by Gavin Bishop.
We chose our favourite myth and are now creating a Storyboard That storyboard to summarise and sequence the story. This is our first time using Storyboard That. We are finding it is a great tool, and can be used for many different things.
We hope to have some of our storyboards on our blogs really soon.

Here is an example of a students storyboard that they are still working on.

What Tiki Am I?

Our completed masterpieces. Great effort room 1!
There are some really amazing detailed designs, and I love how you all thought hard about what is important to you, your whanau, and your culture.
