HMNZS Wellington

Today the senior school were lucky enough to go to Opua and visit the HMNZS Wellington. The Wellington is a Navy Frigate. We learned a lot about what happens on the ship, and about how the Navy crew work and live on board.

After that, we went over to the Waitangi Treaty grounds and watched a show. We were VERY impressed with the performance!
We looked carefully at the tukutuku panels, carvings, and kowhaiwhai patterns. I think we may be inspired to get arty!

  1. Tena koutou katoa, You all look so busy and focused tamariki ma. I am extremely happy our school the Kaikohe West is providing successful learning opportunities for you. You too could be captain of your own ship one day or a professional Maori artist. Continue the GREAT learning!!!
